In 1994, he started his own law firm, based in Baltimore, which Robin Frazier Kandel joined as an associate in 1996. The firm practices in Maryland, and through Mr. O'Shaughnessy's active bar memberships will accept cases in Washington DC and in New York. In 1997 Mr. O'Shaughnessy became a member of The Florida Bar, but his practice in the State of Florida is entirely with the lawfirm of JONES & WOLFE, P.A. in Ft. Recently resolved cases include the representation of the Baylor College of Medicine against Howrey & Simon for lega lmalpractice in connection with the prosecution of a biotechnology patent, a case pending in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. An article about the early stages of that case is published in The Legal Times of Washington D.C. in its edition dated May 4, 1998. Most recently, the practice has resolved (May 2001) claims against a physician for failure to timely diagnose fully resectable and curable lung cancer. The Martindale Hubbell publication, Preeminent Lawyers, lists the law firm's Baltimore, Maryland practice as pre-eminent in the fields of General Practice, Civil Trial Practice, Legal Malpracticeand Medical Malpractice. The West Group Publication, Handling Accident Cases, published our deposition of a urologist as a practice example, in Volume 3A, 1997 Supplement, section 81E. Mr. O'Shaughnessy is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a national organization for attorneys who have successfully tried (as first chair) or have successfully settled (as primary attorney) a claim by an injured victim for a sum equal to or in excess of $1 million. Maryland does not certify itâs Bar members as specialists in any field of practice. The Florida Bar does certify its members in a number of specialties. Because of his newness to the practice in that State(1997 bar admission), Mr. O'Shaughnessy has neither sought nor received certification in any of the areas in which practices in the State of Florida through JONES & WOLFE, P.A..
