- Dr. Capps was born in Birmingham, AL., and grew up in the central Florida area.
- Graduated from high school in Mt. Dora in 1970.
- Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry.
- Attended Medical School at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and Graduated With Honors in 1978..
- Was the recipient of multiple academic awards.
- Elected President of AOA, the National Medical Honor Society.
- Graduated first in his class.
- Received post-graduate training at the University of California in SanFrancisco, the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and The Medical Center,Columbus, Ga.
- Diplomat of The National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Boardof Family Practice.
- Has extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, and Obstretrics.
- Graduated first in his class, with Highest Honors, from Miami's St. Thomas University School of Law.
- Winner of over 10 Book Awards.
- Served as a dean's fellow, and on the Moot Court Board.
- Participated in ATLA, and won the St. Thomas University ATLA Championship.
- Received the West Award for Most Outstanding Law Student, two consecutive years..
- Passed the Florida Bar on first sitting.
Dr. Capps is married and lives in the Fort Lauderdale, area, where he is active in the health and fitness community. Dr. Capps coaches track at South Plantation High School and enjoys working with younger athletes. He enjoys hunting, fishing, motorcycles and travel..
